If it was done using Steam, verify file integrity until everything is perfect. If done from disk, don't worry about it. Before you begin modding, make sure to launch the game first. GTAIV has to inspect your system and build a config file based on your hardware. If you mod it without the config made yet, the game won't know what to do, and inevitably crashes. You don't have to even play the game, you just have to let it launch and get to the main screen where you pick 'Start, Options, Guide, Quit'. Once you get to that screen, just shut the game down and try to mod it again.
If that doesn't work, please let us know, we'll try to troubleshoot with you. Yeah this is my exact process. I moved my already modded GTAIV (RealizmIV/Icenhancer) to another drive and redownloaded GTA IV through steam (all 13+GB or whatever of it). Started the game up, loaded into the game, saw my character standing there (so proper load in) and quit the game via the menu. I did everything in the readme the first time (but forgot to downgrade to 1.0.4.0) so I went back and did that, then re-followed the steps that came after that again just to be sure. The first time without the downgrade, it crashed before the intro logos came up.
After the downgrade, it crashed when I loaded into the game (saw my Niko for a second then crashed). I made a backup of the clean install, so I'll try again I think. Just to clarify. You ran the 1.0.4.0 patch after copying over the mod -or- restored the original, installed the patch, then copied the mod over? If that isn't it, then maybe one of the following scripts might not work for you: SpeedoIV.asi and its folder FirstPerson.asi & ini AlcoholicMod.net & ini Try deleting these one at a time to see if that might be it.
Last thing to consider, we've noticed that once in a while our game crashes too. We have reason to believe that it might be a bad car model, and that it crashes the game as soon as the bad car is spawned. Hyperchem Crack. We'll go through the car spawner and see if spawning a certain car crashes the game a report back. If so we're definitely updating this download. THAT is one hell of an error.
That community knows a hell of a lot more than we do, and to be honest that's the first time we've seen an error box like that. It might help, it might not, but go into your folder options and make it so you can see hidden files and folders. C: Users YOURNAME AppData Local Rockstar Games GTA IV Try moving the settings folder to the desktop (as a back up, making sure the folder doesn't exist anymore in the GTAIV folder), and launch the game again to see if GTAIV makes a new settings folder.
Oh, you're actually the guy behind this? That's excellent. I'm trying this again now; here's my process: • Run the 1.0.4.0 downgrade.
• Rename that folder to 'GTAIV_', then run the RGSC exe. • Copy RGSC files that were created into the GTAIV_ folder, rename it back to GTAIV • Copy everything from GTA2012mod.zip into GTAIV folder, overwrite existing files (copy & replace). • Create desktop shortcut for 'LaunchGTAIV.exe'. • Copy Traffic Control files into scripts folder • Run game to see if it crashes before installing ENB • Loads fine but I notice the ENB Series green text is showing on intro movies despite not installing that yet? Also, my save game has disappeared? I can't load it and it starts the game from scratch, this has never happened before:/ • Exit game • Realise I've actually installed this on top of my already modded GTA (realizm) and facepalm. Alright, time to delete and grab the real clean copy lol.
Give me 10 minutes to copy over. Thanks for the support by the way, I know it can be a little frustrating helping people install mods (I do it over at all the time), so I honestly appreciate the time spent helping me here.
